On the occasion of the anniversary exhibition »Listening to the Stones« in Kunsthaus Dresden, curated by Miya Yoshida in collaboration with Christiane Mennicke-Schwarz und Kerstin Flasche.
The Swiss-born artist Mathis Pfäffli created digital drawings of stones on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Kunsthaus Dresden. His drawn stones and stacked stone formations characterize the print products of the Kunsthaus in the anniversary year 2021 and can be found as a central motif on the pins and T-shirts developed for the occasion, which carry the topic of stone into everyday life beyond the scope of the exhibition. In his artistic work, Mathis Pfäffli deals experimental arrangements in the form of drawings and installations which often deal in an open process with fragile equilibria and temporary localizations of humans in nature. Mathis Pfäffli works in Switzerland as an artist, but also as a curator, among others, for the cooperative La Dependance, founded in 2018 with artists, a residency program with seminars on topics such as climbing, survivalism and knowledge about wild herbs near St. Imier.
Mathis Pfäffli (*1983 in Basel) lives and works in Lucerne.
